Laethon Bumgardner

Laethon entered news as a showtime editor for WRDW in Augusta, Georgia. He studied Film & Digital Media and Marketing at Arizona State University, graduating in December 2024. In high school, Laethon was Vice President of the Journalism Club responsible for the school newspaper, editing and revising articles submitted by the journalists to go live online. After, he has used his college experience practicing writing for news, creative writing, and video game narratives.

Outside of the newsroom, Laethon enjoys reading and writing stories, adventurous video games, and taking care of his household, a loving wife and energetic dog and cat. He enjoys discovering new places to explore, lore and history to learn, and goes wherever there is new coffee and food to try.

Inside the newsroom, he is devoted to telling stories that help the people and showcase community among those around him. Bringing people together is one of Laethon’s goals, and aims to deliver stories that showcase just that.
