ALBANY, GA. (WALB) - Hurricane Helene hit South Georgia causing severe damage and many power outages throughout the area.

Berrien County

787 customers without power.

Coffee County

1,592 customers without power.

Lowndes County

2,373 customers without power.

“We’ve just spoken with Georgia Power leadership and they have let us know that 95% power restoration is expected by 11 p.m. next Saturday (10/5). We’re so grateful to the linemen & crews working tirelessly. We’re all in this together,” said the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce.
