Fitzgerald meth trafficking bust: 2 arrested, over 3 ounces seized
FITZGERALD, Ga. (WALB) — The South Central Drug Task Force of Irwin County and the Fitzgerald Police Department arrested two people in connection with a methamphetamine trafficking case, removing more than three ounces of meth from the street.
Deputies said a 52-year-old male suspect was found in possession of the three ounces of methamphetamine along with other drug-related items. A 25-year-old female passenger was reportedly also found with methamphetamine.
The suspects’ identities were not released.

Under Georgia law, “possession of 28 grams or more constitutes trafficking and is punishable by a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and fines starting at $200,000, with penalties increasing as the weight of the drugs increases.”
