“It’s essential that we take time to celebrate schools as they make great gains for students.”
SOUTH GEORGIA (WALB) - The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) is celebrating several South Georgia schools for having high performance and great improvements.
“Just as we work to help all schools continuously improve, it’s essential that we take time to celebrate schools as they make great gains for students,”
Eight South Georgia schools are on the GaDOE distinguished Title I schools list.
- Atkinson County High School
- Berrien County Elementary School
- Berrien Primary School
- Hamilton Elementary School
- Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet
- Lee County Primary School
- Clyattville Elementary School
- Dewar Elementary School
These schools are among the highest performing Title I schools and Title I Targeted Assistance schools. That’s based on combined ELA and math mastery scores in state assessments, according to a press release from GaDOE.
Five South Georgia schools were listed by the GaDOE as being ‘reward schools.’
- Atkinson County Middle School
- Ben Hill County Middle School
