Update on the fire in Early County gin
BLAKELY, Ga. (WALB) - Early County gin up and running following the burning of cotton barrels.
The fire took place at the Early County gin last Friday, Nov. 21, in the gin’s module yard; luckily Blakely Fire Department was able to get the fire under control.
The Agriculture Commissioner of Georgia, Tyler Harper, says
“This is the second significant fire at an agricultural facility in recent weeks, following the fire at the Doster Peanut Company in Wilcox County last month. While we are blessed that no one was injured in either accident, it is an important reminder of the hazards involved in agriculture and farming”.
