2 suspects arrested in May 14 Americus shooting
The shooting happened in the 500 block of Eastview Drive in Americus

AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) - The Americus Police Department announced that two suspects were arrested in connection to the May 14 shooting of Michael Gage Grimes.
The shooting happened in the 500 block of Eastview Drive in Americus, according to a release by Americus police.
Americus police worked with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), and the United States Marshall Service to arrest Christopher Darrell Lembrick, Jr., 19, and Lavarous Jermaine Rumph, Jr., 18, both of Americus.
Both have been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Lembrick is facing the following charges:
- Obstruction of law enforcement
- Possession of Schedule I narcotics with intent to distribute
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Rumph is facing the following charges:
- Obstruction of law enforcement
- Giving false name to law enforcement
- Possession of Schedule I narcotics with intent to distribute
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Both suspects were arrested at a residence on Beale Street in Americus on Monday, July 1.
