Moss Farms Director Chris Heaton takes job at Harvard
MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - After three years and a very successful career at Moss Farms, program director and head coach Chris Heaton will be leaving Moultrie to fulfill his dreams as the new class of 1989 head coach for diving at Harvard.
Although Heaton is leaving, the diving Tigers are being left in familiar hands, as John Fox will now be taking the head coaching and program director position.
In the three years that Fox and Heaton have been with Moss Farms, the two have produced 4 YMCA national champions and 4 AAU National champions.
In their first year at Moss Farms, the two took the diving program from being ranked at 36th in the nation, to this year being ranked at number 9.
Heaton said he is excited for the opportunity, and excepts the challenge awaiting him at Harvard.
"I love what I'm doing here. I absolutely love the community here," said Heaton. "The facilities are second to none. I love the coaching staff. It's just top of the charts across the board. But you know that kind of got me kind of thinking a little bit about the future."
Heaton will be heading to Harvard before the end of the week.
