Joshua is a multimedia journalist at Atlanta News First who takes pride in writing, editing, and producing his own stories on deadline. He joins ANF from West Texas.
Living by the motto that the news doesn't have to be boring, Joshua is a 2x Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB) Multimedia Journalist of the Year (2022 & 2023) and TAB Reporter of the Year (2023). Using creative writing and standups, Joshua has won state and regional awards for his breaking news coverage, continuing coverage, health reporting, environmental/energy reporting, and beat reporting. His stories about pollution and land destruction caused by oil and gas operations in West Texas won a 2023 Edward R. Murrow Award for Continuing Coverage and a 2023 TAB Award for Specialty/Beat Reporting. His coverage of West Texans involved in the 1/6 Capitol Riots won a 2022 Edward R. Murrow Award.
A service academy graduate, he spent most of his twenties gallivanting around the Atlantic, Europe, and the Middle East, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer. In his free time, you can find him in the gym or in a good book (currently working on All the Light We Cannot See). He believes putting pineapple on pizza is an unforgivable crime.
