Students and staff are expected to return campus Thursday

MILLER COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - All Miller County Schools closed Wednesday following a threat made to the campuses earlier that morning.
According to the school district, they were informed of a threat made to its campus on Facebook Messenger a little before 6 a.m.
An unknown account sent a message to one of the Miller County school system’s Facebook accounts, detailing a bomb threat to the campus, according to the school district.
The Miller County Sheriff’s Office was notified immediately and began investigating.
As a result, the school district canceled school. Students and staff are expected to return to campus Thursday.
There was no threat found on the campus after local law enforcement searched it completely using dogs and bomb technicians, according to the district.
Once a suspect has been identified, the school district says an arrest will be made.
In a Facebook post Wednesday morning, the Miller County schools apologized for the last-minute cancellation but maintained that the safety and well-being of their students are their priority.
