Elder abuse often not reported

Posted: Updated:

Elder abuse is one of the most under reported problems in America.

The majority of abuse occurs in private homes by family members.

Elaine Wilson, a long term care giver with the Ombudsman says she was appalled when she watched the video of the kids bullying the elderly woman..but she says she was not surprised.

"The chain of violence begins with children, because children are horribly abused..when they are brought up in abused situations they and apparently the age of becoming an abuser must be getting earlier and earlier," said Wilson.
