The Albany Police Department (APD) is warning residents about a scam involving people pretending to be law enforcement officers and demanding money over the phone.
According to police, a local citizen recently reported getting a call from someone claiming to be with the Sheriff’s Office. The caller told the victim that their son had been arrested and that they needed to pay for bond and an ankle monitor through a website link.
Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Darline Graham to serve out the remainder of her brother Sen. Lindsey Graham’s U.S. Senate term, and she was sworn in Tuesday.
According to the Albany Police Department, officers responded around 8:02 a.m. to the 300 block of Liberty Expressway in reference to a two-vehicle crash.
