Suspected auto thief behind 3 county police chase

A man who crashed into a deputy's car during a high speed chase through three counties Tuesday afternoon remains in jail in Crisp County.
Not only was he driving a stolen sports car but that car was filled with stolen goods.
Officials say 29-year-old Jason Blythe of Easley, South Carolina failed to stop for a Crisp County deputy on I-75 for a speeding violation.
He was behind the wheel of stolen Lexus SC430 which can reach speeds of 150 mph.
"As he traveled on 41 south his speed was at 117," said Sgt. B.F. Williams with the Georgia State Patrol.
Using numerous exits along I-75, Blythe avoided deputies as he raced through Turner and Tift counties during afternoon drive time.
Law enforcement had to block off the exits along the interstate.
"We closed the exits to prevent him from getting into higher populated areas," Williams said.
Tift County Colonel Larry Taylor's cruiser would take the brunt of the damage. Blythe managed to exit onto US 41 where the cars collided outside a shopping plaza.
Luckily Taylor was ok. As for Blythe it turns out his high powered sports car wasn't the only thing stolen.
Troopers say he had stolen electronics, clothing, televisions, jewelry stuffed in the back of the car.
The Lexus was stolen from a dealership in Birmingham, Alabama.
Some of the charges Blythe is facing right now include felony theft by receiving, eluding police, aggravated assault and drug charges.
He is being held in the Crisp County Jail without bond.
