WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - After nearly 3 decades there will be a new sheriff in Worth County but that won't be decided until November.

A lot of candidates vying for office in the primary Republican Jeff Hobby got 66 percent of the vote over Sylvester Police investigator Ronnie Graddy.

Hobby will face Democratic Challenger John J.D. Daniel in the general election who got 80 percent of the vote, beating out Lenny Davis, and Gene Jones.

Both candidates say they are excited for the November election.

"I'm glad to see that Worth County has enough confidence to elect me," said Jeff Hobby, Sheriff Candidate.

"I wasn't expected that big of a voter turnout, we really had a great turnout in Worth County, we really did," said John "J.D." Daniel, Sheriff Candidate (D).

Hobby and Daniel will go head to head in the general election in November.
