Albany -- A tribute to newspaper writer and comedian Lewis Grizzard will come to the stage at the Tift Theatre Friday night in Tifton.

The very popular Atlanta Constitution columnist and comic died in 1994. Now actor Bill Overst, Jr. is touring the South doing a tribute show to the comedy and books of Lewis Grizzard.

This tribute is endorsed by Grizzard's widow, Dedra, who says Lewis still has many loyal fans. Mrs. Grizzard said "It is amazing to me, to go see sold out crowds. And watch the audiences as they are leaving the building. Because most people are either laughing or crying. And it just shows me we are doing a really great thing by keeping his memory alive."

Proceeds from Friday night's tribute go to the Tift Theatre and Lewis Grizzard's foundation. The tribute show begins at 8 o-clock in Tifton.
