(CNN) - United Airlines will soon be offering passengers a more comfortable seating option.

United announced its new Airbus jets will have a new type of seating in its Economy Plus cabin, a row without a middle-seat passenger.

Instead, there will be a fixed table between the two seats.

The new option is said to give passengers in the row more elbow room.

According to United, the new fleet of planes will begin flying internationally by early next year, with the seating design available for purchase later this year.

United will be the first known U.S. carrier to offer such an option.
