BMW issues recall due to fire risk with engine starter. Here are the impacted vehicles

(CNN) - BMW has issued a recall for more than 29,000 vehicles.

A notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the vehicles pose a fire risk.

The recall applies to four BMW models: the 2018 to 2020 BMW 530e xDrive and iPerformance; the 2017 to 2019 BMW 740Le xDrive; and the 2016 to 2018 BMW 330e iPerformance.

Owners will be notified by mail about the recall.

BMW said it will replace the engine starter at authorized BMW dealers.

Until repairs can be made, officials said owners should park their cars outside and away from structures.
