CAMILLA, Ga. (WALB) - Three Mitchell County High School athletes signed to compete at the college level.

Darius Robinson and Willie Davis will take their track and field talents to Brewton Parker College. The duo helped Mitchell County win three consecutive titles.

Robinson holds the school’s 110-meter and 300-meter hurdle records.

Davis started in shot put before transitioning to distance running. After the team won the 4x800-meter relay at state last year, Davis began emailing college coaches.

“They started getting back, and they were telling me this, that I need to work on this, and what I need to do,” Davis said. “And someone were interested in me, so that’s why I knew I have a shot to go to college.”

AJ Franklin signed to play basketball with Flight 88 Elite in Douglas, a feeder program into South Georgia State College.

“I’m blessed to have an opportunity to keep doing what I love doing, playing basketball,” Franklin said.

Franklin said Flight 88 Elite can expect him to knock down threes, shoot the ball and be a good teammate. He hopes to earn a spot on a Division I basketball team.
