The SGA softball team received their championship rings Friday night, marking the second straight year the Lady Warriors have earned the honor.

This year’s championship game featured significant drama after the team trailed 8-0 in the fifth inning before mounting a comeback to win the title.

The players celebrated the ring ceremony in front of family and friends.

“We definitely probably would not be here right now if we did not have our crowd behind us,” one player said. “Yeah, family, friends, everyone’s there. It’s just a calm view to know that your family’s right there behind you every step of the way.”

SGA softball remains one of South Georgia’s top programs. With only two seniors leaving the team, a three-peat could be possible in 2026.
