2 arrested for leaving dog outside to die in hot temperatures, police say
BATH, N.Y. (Gray News) - Two people were arrested after leaving a dog to die in hot temperatures, according to police.
According to the Village of Bath Police Department, animal control was called to do a welfare check on a dog that was showing signs of heat exhaustion.
Animal control called the police after arriving and finding the dog dead on the lawn.

Theodore W. Furia, 35, and Nicole M. Wandell, 31, were arrested and charged in the dog’s death.
Police said the dog was left outside for an extended period of time, did not have access to clean water, and did not have shelter that was appropriate for the extremely hot weather.
Police want to remind pet owners to be mindful of extreme heat and take appropriate measures to keep pets cool.
