DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The wanted man who law enforcement has been searching for since Tuesday has been caught at an Albany apartment complex.

The man, Keyshawn Xzavier Dye, was captured by Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) deputies on June 11 at about 5 p.m. He was found at a woman’s apartment inside the Shoreham Apartments on Dawson Road and Champagne Lane.

On Tuesday, the search started after a car, in which Dye was a passenger, was stopped for speeding. The car that Dye was in was also seen at Shoreham Apartments shortly before he was captured by DCSO.

Four other people, accused of helping Dye, were arrested.

Dye could be facing up to 20 charges, according to Dougherty County Sheriff Terron Hayes.

The sheriff’s office posted a photo of Dye after he was captured.

WALB obtained reports on June 12 from GSP detailing Dye’s March 2024 incident with troopers. According to GSP’s report, troopers had to quote, “step out of the way to avoid being struck” by a Dye during a traffic stop on Lovers Lane Road in Lee County. After a chase and PIT maneuver, Dye ran into the woods, GSP said.

Following that incident, Dye faced multiple charges including “aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer,” the report said.
