Fugitive captured in Albany Walmart shooting

A wanted fugitive has been captured, according to the Albany-Dougherty Special Investigative Unit.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A wanted fugitive has been captured, according to the Albany-Dougherty Special Investigative Unit (SIU).

William Hagan had outstanding warrants for his arrest for the incident, that happened on Jan. 5, 2025 a shooting took place at the Neighborhood Walmart located on North Slappey Blvd.

A surveillance was conducted on a black Ford F-150 that was possibly driven by the wanted fugitive, William Hagan. According to the release, Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 2:30 p.m. S.I.U officers followed Hagan to the 100 block of Georgia Power Rd. and attempted to make contact with Hagan. As Hagan was attempting to escape from authorities, his truck got stuck in the mud.

At the time of the incident there was a passenger in the vehicle, Jessica Miles. She was also taken in custody and transported to the Dougherty County Jail.

Hagan is being charged with:

  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Possession of drug related objects
  • Possession of schedule II controlled substances
  • Possessions of a firearm by a convicted felon (3 counts)
  • Tampering with evidence
  • Trafficking with methamphetamine
  • Trafficking with fentanyl

Jessica Miles has been charged with:

  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Trafficking with fentanyl
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
  • Possession of drug related objects

Officers also recovered the following items from the vehicle:

  • 48.4 grams of marijuana
  • 32.4 grams of fentanyl
  • 5.6 grams of crack cocaine
  • 217.6 grams of methamphetamine
  • 2 digital scales
  • 2 Tarsus 9mm handguns
  • $5,561
