Wolfe, 60, said he and Fritz met in middle school and the two went on to host “American Pickers” from 2010 until Fritz left the show in 2020 after the two had a falling out.

The two were able to mend their friendship before Fritz died from complications of a stroke in September.

“I got the call that he wasn’t doing well,” Wolfe told People.

Wolfe said that he was by Fritz‘s side when he died along with his mother, and Fritz‘s late mother’s best friend.

“I was holding his hand and rubbing his chest when he took his last breath,” Wolfe said.

Wolfe told People that while he is heartbroken over the death of his friend, he finds comfort in knowing that they were friends until the end.
