Former Monroe Comprehensive High School teacher indicted on sexual contact by employee charges
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A grand jury has indicted a former Dougherty County teacher.
Former Monroe Comprehensive High School teacher Audrianna Cobb-Williams was arrested for two counts of sexual assault on a student in December 2023.
According to the indictment Audrianna Cobb-Williams is facing two counts of first-degree sexual contact by an employee or agent.
The indictment says, “…Audrianna Cobb- Williams… an employee of Monroe High School, did knowingly kiss… a student, in violation of O.C.G.A. 16-6-5.1. It also stated Williams, “… did knowingly perform (a sexual act)… with the student whom said accused knew was… enrolled as a student... contrary to the laws of the state.”
District Attorney Greg Edwards for Dougherty County Judicial Circuit commented on the importance of his office prosecuting cases such as this.
“We must protect the integrity of both our educators and our children. The way that a community protects its senior citizens, its disabled persons and its children— is reflective of the character of the community,” Edwards said.
Edwards says the next step is for the case to go to trial. If Cobb-Williams is found guilty, she could face up to 10 years in prison for each count.
