Bainbridge named ‘Downtown of the Year’

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Downtown Bainbridge was named the ‘Downtown of the Year’ at the Georgia Downtown Association annual awards ceremony.

This ceremony took place on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

In a post to Facebook, the city of Bainbridge said that they would use this accolade as inspiration to keep moving forward.

In addition to Bainbridge being named Downtown of the Year, a few other South Georgia cities also received awards. The cities awarded are:

Award of Excellence for Best Facade Rehabilitation goes to the city of Tifton for the 122 East Fifth Street Rehabilitation.
Award of Excellence for Best Placemaking Project goes to the city of Thomasville for the African Americans and the Arts project.
Award of Excellence for Premier Special Event goes to the city of Hahira for their Father & Daughter Dance.
Award of Excellence for Premier Partner goes to the city of Thomasville for their Thomasville Center for the Arts.
