Valdosta State Football hosts annual titletown showcase

Over 350 athletes showed up to show off their talents in front of college scouts

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - On Friday morning over 350 participants showed up to Valdosta State football’s practice field for the annual Titletown Showcase.

The showcase open to current high school football players and transfers looking for their next home. All positions got a chance to show of their talent in front of some college scouts. The day got started with specialists, followed by linemen and skill positions.

The second of the two showcases, but their was no shortage of talent or coaches looking to add guys to their roster. Fort Valley, Mississippi State, Troy and Florida Atlantic just a few of many schools in attendance.

”Yeah you know it’s a chance for us to get some local talent out on the field to work with us. There’s other schools here other universities here to evaluate. We got Florida talent, South Georgia talent, North Georgia talent 350 plus guys here right now and they get a chance to be evaluated but most of all get a chance to get coached and that’s really the most important,” said Coach Tremaine Jackson.
