TIFT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Five people have died following a Tuesday, June 4, crash on I-75 North in Tift County.

At around 6:39 p.m., Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers and MCCD officers responded to a crash near mile marker 69 in reference to a crash that killed multiple people, according to GSP.

An investigation revealed that the vehicle was driving in the center lane of the interstate and a tractor-trailer was parked on the right shoulder. The driver of the first vehicle failed to maintain his lane, causing it to head into the right side of the roadway, hit the back of the tractor-trailer, and came to a final rest.

According to GSP, the driver and three passengers died from their injuries at the scene, and one passenger, Ephira Oddum, 19, of Riverdale, Georgia, was taken to a local hospital where they later died from their injuries.

The victims who died at the scene have been identified as:

  • Serigne Mbodji, 22, of Atlanta, Georgia
  • Christopher Dennis, 22, of Hinesville, Georgia
  • Aliyah Miles, 21, of Dallas, Georgia
  • Dawan Nation, 19, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
