2 arrested, charged in Tuesday evening Americus shooting

One of the suspects was 16 years old
Officials say the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) - The Americus Police Department has made an arrest following a shooting on Tuesday, May 28.

At around 6:10 p.m., officers went to the 100 block of Hosanna Circle about a shooting, according to a release.

When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old male who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. The teen was taken to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center by EMS for treatment.

Investigators identified and arrested two suspects from Americus: Quintin Fletcher, 18, and a 16-year-old male.

Both suspects have been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The 16-year-old is also charged with possession of a firearm by a person under 18. Additional charges are pending.
