FITZGERALD, Ga. (WALB) - It’s been three years since Keora Lawson, 22, went missing and investigators are still pushing to find out what happened to her.

Police say Lawson, also fondly known as Keke was last seen on May 1 on surveillance video at It’s Fashion. After that police say she was dropped off at a home in Fitzgerald where she frequented and left the home on foot without telling anyone where she was going.

Her family reported her missing on May 14, 2021. Lawson leaves behind her young son.

A reward is still set for any information that leads to the recovery of Keora Lawson.

Police said, to this day, there are 122 reports completed in the case. Hundreds of searches have also led investigators to exactly what they find, nothing. The last search for Lawson was done around August of 2023. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has even assisted in the case.

“Absolutely nothing came out of this. Every bit of information we got didn’t lead us to anywhere,” said Captain of Fitzgerald Police Investigations James Tilley. “You follow that lead until you can’t follow it anymore. And that’s what we continue to do.”

Lethia Kittrell, a business owner, who still has Lawson’s missing person poster up on display, said the young mother’s disappearance has not only taken a toll on her family but also on the community.

“I constantly pray daily until this child is found,” Kittrell said. “We’ve heard so many rumors but we need truth and closure as a community.”

Tilley says there have been persons of interest, even one who has passed away. But as of right now, there have been no arrests.

“For everyone who talks about her, she was so happy and so lively and everyone liked her. She didn’t have any enemies and nobody disliked her. It seems strange for all of a sudden for all these people that knew her, to not know anything,” Tilley said. “We don’t want her to be forgotten. I still hold on to faith that somewhere, she’s okay.”

There is still a reward set for any information that leads to Lawson’s recovery. Fitzgerald police have also launched a phone app where you can find information about Lawson’s last known whereabouts and submit anonymous tips.
