Gov. Kemp suspends Pineview mayor, following indictment on multiple felony counts

This was following Holt being arrested and charged with 75 counts of theft by taking, in January by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

PINEVIEW, Ga. (WALB) - Governor Brian Kemp issues an executive order to suspend a Wilcox County mayor.

City of Pineview Mayor Brandon Holt, 34, has been indicted on multiple felony counts of theft by taking.

This was following Holt being arrested and charged with 75 counts of theft by taking, in January by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

According to the Governor’s Office, the executive order was issued on March 28, the order appointed members to the Review Commission to determine whether the indictment relates to and affects the administration of the office of the mayor of Pineview.

The Review Commission found that the indictment on Holt does relate to and does affect the administration of the office of the mayor of Pineview, and recommended that Holt be suspended from office immediately.

The city of Pineview declined to comment on their mayor but told WALB that city hall will continue to run.
