Man found guilty on all charges in deadly 2019 Dougherty Co. crash

DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Years after a fatal crash that killed a father and son in Dougherty County, a jury has now convicted the man suspected of causing the deadly wreck.
On Tuesday, March 5, a Dougherty County jury found Ryan Jewell, 23, guilty on charges including:
- Two counts of first-degree vehicular homicide
- Four counts of serious bodily injury
- Reckless driving
- Distracted driving
- Stop sign violation
This ruling comes after District Attorney Greg Edwards said in 2019, that Jewell was speeding and texting while driving his car when he hit a truck with the Hubbard family of four inside. Wesley and Kalvin “Dale” Hubbard were killed as a result of the crash.

Jewell could face a sentence of up to 96 years in prison, according to Edwards. A sentencing hearing may be held as soon as April.
The jury reportedly deliberated for one hour before reaching the verdict. The trial began on Monday, Feb. 26.
