Dog awaits adoption after more than 5 years at animal shelter

Memorial Day is about honoring veterans that have fallen. Sheron Kendrick wants to support them while they’re still here.

The event is aimed at bringing people together for free food, health resources and entertainment.

Organizers went to 23 cemeteries in Tifton and in total put out 4,500 flags to honor the lives lost.

“I hope that the things we do help educate the younger generation that freedom isn’t free. Freedom was never free, and somebody paid for it."

The new location has a kitchen. It will allow them to feed children within the facility instead of getting deliveries.

There has been controversy after the Lowndes County Board of Assessors sent property owners their 2023 Notice of Assessment.
