USDA announces over $7.1 million for school nutrition; Georgia joining new initiative

With the summer break from schools upon us, food banks will be stretched even further.

In 2022, food bank officials say they collected 70,000 pounds of non-perishable foods.

WALB’s Jim Wallace sat down with the CEO of a food packet manufacturer based out of Fitzgerald that’s working to provide food for those in need.

May Day festival is set for Saturday, May 6. They are expecting more than 40 vendors at the event.

With the design of the building, city and non-profit leaders are hoping more improvements come to the area, and will in return create economic prosperity for everyone.
