Melba L. Harp, 85, of Lee County, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital .
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors Monday, February 16, 2009 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM . The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors with the Rev. Ken Chancellor and Rev. Bobby Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Columbus, Mrs. Harp had lived in Albany since 1954. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and the Rose Moore Sunday School Class. Mrs. Harp was a member of Golden Key Club and Woodmen of the World. She was a sweet and humble lady. She loved her family, friends and pastor. Mrs. Harp is preceded in death by her husband, William C. Harp.
Mrs. Harp is survived by her son, Stan Harp and his wife Joann of Lee County; a daughter, Diane Turner and her husband Rex of Albany; four grandchildren: Trey Turner, Lee Ann Austin and her husband Bruce, Chip Harp and his wife Lisa, and David Harp and his wife Tina; eight great-grandchildren: William Harp, Foley Harp, Cannon Harp, Grace Margaret Harp, Haley Harp, Andy Harp, Mia Austin and Jay Austin; and a sister, Runnette Cotney of Pittsview, AL.
