Commissioner says prostitutes are roaming streets

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany City Commissioner says prostitutes are ruling the streets of Albany. Commissioner Tommie Postell says he sees them all hours of the day and night, especially along Highland Avenue.
Willie Ross, who lives near MLK Drive, told commissioners he sees them in his neighborhood, too. He's now started a neighborhood watch. He said, "I used to be on the rough side and in the streets, so I decided I'd come home and put back into the neighborhood what I took out of it."
Undercover officers recently performed a sting to arrest prostitutes on Highland Avenue. At an upcoming meeting, Commissioners plan to discuss increasing the fine for people who are charged with prostitution.
