Verna Griffin 80, of Albany died Tuesday March 4, 2008.

The funeral service will be 11 AM, Friday, March 7 at First Baptist of Acree with the interment to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Brother Mark Sickling will officiate.

A native of Clatskanie, Oregon, Mrs. Griffin lived in Albany for the past 35 years.  She was a member of First Baptist of Acree for more than 30 years, serving as Sunday School teacher, Church Hostess, and was involved in all church activities. 

She loved her husband and family greatly and she was loved in return by them.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Margie Rice Curtman; a great-grandson, Dennis Clayton; and her sister, Lee Masters.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Max Griffin of Albany; 3 sons: Terry Griffin and his wife Donna, Gary Griffin and his wife Wanda Sue, and David Griffin and his wife Debbie, all of Worth County; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6 PM to 8 PM, March 6, 2008 at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors
