Lex receives Commemorative Purple Heart

Eglin Air Force Base - Lex, the former bomb-sniffing dog of an Albany based Marine, killed last March is now the recipient of a commemorative Purple Heart.

Corporal Dustin Lee's family was at the ceremony to honor Lex at a ceremony February 16th at Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. 8-year-old Lex was injured in the attack in Fallujah, Iraq that killed 20-year old Cpl. Dustin Lee.

Lex is now retired and lives with the late Cpl. Lee's family in Mississippi.
