Nine arrested by drug agents
February 23, 2007
Albany -- Nine people were arrested in Downtown Albany as drug agents continue their crackdown on prostitution.
Albany Dougherty Drug Unit officers arrested nine people for pandering, obstruction of police officers, possession of marijuana, or fleeing from police in last night's undercover busts.
These people were arrested during sting operations at West Highland, South Van Buren, and South Harding Streets.

All the charges are misdemeanors. Drug agents are targeting prostitutes and the John's who hire them, because the people involved are closely tied to Albany's drug trade.
ADDU drug agents say they will continue these undercover sting operations to try to stop prostitution in Dougherty County.
