Brooks native receives Nobel Peace Prize

Stokhlom, Sweden -- A South Georgia native is part of a team awarded the Nobel Peace Price.
David Hanks, who grew up in Morven, works as a Nuclear Safeguards Inspector with the International Atomic Energy Agency in Austria. The group was awarded the 2005 Nobel Peace Price for work to prevent nuclear energy from being used for military purposes.
Hanks lived in Morven and graduated from Brooks County High School before joining the Navy in 1977.
