ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany and Dougherty County leaders have finalized with Georgia Pacific on the multi-million dollar purchase of an industrial park.
The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission confirmed on its Facebook page officially that the Georgia-Pacific lumber plant will be located in the Albany-Dougherty Industrial Park on Sylvester Road. Georgia Pacific's purchase price was $2.3 million.
Reportedly, they will build a state-of-the-art, 320,000 square feet facility.
The EDC said Georgia Pacific will hire 130 employees and generate more than $150 million dollars in investment for Albany and Dougherty County.
