UPDATE: Americus PD captures wanted man

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Within 90 minutes of the publishing of a lookout for a man by Americus Police on WALB.com. the police chief sent word that the man was in custody.

"Mitchell was seen at a local business by a concerned citizen who had seen his photo on the news," said Chief Mark Scott. "He was taken into custody without incident."

About 9:35 last Friday morning, Americus Police officers were dispatched to Woodland Avenue for a burglary in progress, but the suspect was gone when officers arrived.

About 5:00 that afternoon, officers were dispatched to Parker Street in Americus for a domestic dispute, with shots fired. Police chased the man, but he got away.

Evidence and interviews allowed investigators to link both incidents, and warrants have been issued for 23-year-old Eston Keyund Mitchell of Garden Lane Americus.

Mitchell is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of burglary, one count of criminal trespass, one count of obstructing officers, one count of reckless conduct and one count of cruelty to children.
