CUTHBERT, GA (WALB) - Randolph County Board of Elections is expected to meet Friday morning to discuss the recent possibility of closing 75% of its polling locations.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held August 24, at 8 AM at the Government Center at 51 Court Street in Cuthbert.

Last week, dozens of Randolph County residents expressed outrage after proposing to close seven of the nine polling locations for the upcoming midterm election.

The seven voting locations proposed to be closed are listed below:

  • Cuthbert:
    • Springvale
    • Coleman
    • Carnegie
    • Cuthbert Middle School
    • Benevolence
  • Shellman:
    • Fountain Bridge
    • Fourth District

Passionate residents and the ACLU expressed concern last Thursday about the possible changes.
