Stitches in Mitchell Co. offering reduced prices for cat adoptions

CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - If you're in need of a cat, the best time to get one is now.

Stitches for Mitchell County, Inc. staff said they have an influx of cats and kittens.

Nearly 40 kittens are in need of homes right now.

Staff from Stitches said during spring and summer, cats tend to grow their litter causing them to run out of room.

In response, the organization will allow the community to adopt a kitten for $25 instead of $35 during the month of August.

"We have reduced a normal adoption fee from $35 to $25 and this covers having the kittens spayed and neutered depending on the sex and covers their rabies shots if they are old enough to receive one," said Stitches Vice President Susan Jamerson.

If you would like to adopt a cat or kitten, you can do so at the Stitches location in Camilla, Tuesday through Saturday.
