Colquitt Co. school zones get upgrade

COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - Four Colquitt County schools have joined the list of nearly 300 across the state benefiting from upgrades in school zones.

The Glance School Zone Beacon System is now in service at Hamilton, Norman Park, Okapilco and Sunset elementary schools.

That allows the district to change when school zone beacons are turned on through a phone mobile app.

The company said the flashing lights alert drivers to changes in the school's schedule and can increase safety during those times.
