ALAPAHA, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has identified the victim and the suspect in a fatal shooting in Alapaha.
According to the GBI, Patricia Michelle Deboyd, 26, died from apparent gunshot wounds on Wednesday.
The GBI said the Berrien County Sheriff's Office received a call that someone had been shot around 3:10 p.m in the 1300 block of Highway 158 in Alapaha.
When deputies arrived, the GBI said they found Deboyd's body and Roger Lee Tabor Jr., 30, near the residence.
Tabor was arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail.
Berrien County Sheriff Ray Paulk said Tabor has been charged with malice murder, four counts aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and three counts child cruelty.
The GBI said Deboyd's body will be taken tot he GBI Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
WALB received a tip about a possible shooting just after 4 p.m.
Later, Berrien County Coroner Rob Lovein Jr. confirmed he was on the scene of a shooting.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Douglas Office has taken over the investigation.
Berrien County EMS also said it was called to the scene.
