Now, three of the four defendants charged in connection to his death are on trial: Jatarious Bronner, Willie Caldwell and Theojuana McCullar.

McCullar was charged for party to the crime of murder.

Caldwell and Bronner both face burglary, aggravated assault, armed robbery and murder charges.

Chyquandria Williams was charged with murder about a year after McPherson's death.

McPherson played basketball at Albany State and graduated in 2006.

Investigators say he was on the phone when the defendants broke into his house, robbed him and shot him once in the chest.

They didn't say much regarding the relationship between McPherson and his suspected killers, but did say the motive was robbery.
