ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A decade-old murder case will play out in court Monday morning.

In September 2008, Ricardo McPherson, 25, was shot and killed in his Gillionville Road apartment while he was on the phone. McPherson was a former Albany State University basketball player.

The McPherson family may finally see justice for the death of their son.

Either Jatarious Bronner, Willie Caldwell or Theojuana McCullar will go before Judge Stephen Goss Monday morning.

More than a year after his death, police went to Terrell County where they arrested Chyquandria Williams for murder and Theojuana McCullar for party to the crime of murder.

Police also said Willie Caldwell and Jatarious Bronner were also involved that night.

They both face burglary, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and murder charges.

Caldwell also faces charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm of a convicted felon.

"One of the lawyers for the case was ill for a large part of the time and then ultimately was deceased. And now the lawyers that have taken over the case have apparently we can hope have brought the matter to the point to take it to trial so the jury can decide the matter of the issues."

Edwards says the three defendants who could appear in court today have been out on bond.

The trial is set to begin at 9 Monday morning.
