THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Police are searching for a Thomasville woman who has been missing since Monday evening. Officers believe she could be in danger.

Police believe Deanna Shirey, 71, could be in the Tallahassee area.

On Tuesday afternoon, her car was found abandoned in the city with all her personal belongings inside.

Thomasville investigators said Shirey's daughter called authorities Monday night after she hadn't heard from her mom.

Officers stopped by Shirey's Glenwood Drive home to do a wellness check and said her car was in the driveway even though she didn't answer.

When officers returned this morning, her car was gone.

Investigators said Shirey's daughter told them it is out of character for her mother not to return her phone calls, and family and neighbors are concerned.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working with both Thomasville and Tallahassee police on this case

If you have any information or think you may have seen Deanna Shirey, you are urged to contact the Thomasville Police Department at (229) 227-3249.
