ALBANY, GA (WALB) - New relationships are paving the way to better healthcare across Southwest Georgia.
An organization called WorkSource Southwest Georgia secured a $186,000 grant. The organization is using that to build a system of communication and collaboration between healthcare facilities and educators.
Jerry Chapman is the regional planner for the company. He said the biggest hurdle is finding what issues each group faces and how they can work together to improve.
"The school systems know what our problems are, but we're finding out that we don't know what we don't know and we're getting a lot of things solved, a lot of solutions," said Chapman.
Those groups are meeting once a month for the next two years to work through any issues.
On Tuesday, they focused on top needs for the healthcare field.
