Lowndes County to vote on 2018-19 Budget

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Lowndes County leaders are expected to pass their 2018-2019 budget Tuesday night at a commission meeting.
The new budget is very similar to last year's, with the exception of a new probation department.
That department will cost just over $600,000 and will also bring over a dozen jobs to the area.
County Commission Chairman, Bill Slaughter, says that change will help the county run more efficiently, and help those involved in the probation process.
