ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Another pedestrian was hit Tuesday in Albany off Holley Drive, making this the second one on Tuesday.

We were told by officials that it was a woman and she is at the Phoebe Putney Hospital for treatment.

According to Dougherty County Police, the woman was walking across Holly Drive when she was struck by a car heading east.

The woman was thrown about 56 feet and landed on the shoulder.

Her condition is unknown but police said she was waiting for a hospital transfer due to a head injury.

The driver told police she didn't see the woman in the street until after the accident.

Due to witness reports, the driver's statement and evidence on the scene, police have cited the pedestrian with pedestrian in the roadway (failure to yield to a vehicle).
